The Victorian State Schools Spectacular - Saturday 15th September

Thousands of Victorian students are perfecting their dance moves, memorising their words and tuning their instruments as part of this year's Victorian State Schools Spectacular.

Musicians, singers, dancers, skaters, puppeteers and circus artistes will amaze an audience of more than 10,000 people at Melbourne Hisense Arena on Saturday 15 September, with shows at 1pm and 6.30pm.

This year's show, titled With the Beat, explores ideas of belonging and identity.  The journey of exploration will see Hisense Arena transformed into a mystical Venetian masquerade ball and a wondrous Steam Punk Fairground.

There is something for everyone's musical tatse.  Talented vocalists and musicians will perform more than 40 songs from artists like Macklemore, Imagine Dragons, Sheppard, Tim Minchin and Beyoncé.

The annual Victorian State Schools Spectacular provides a unique training opportunity for students onstage as well as behind the scenes on audio, lighting and video production, stage management, costime and film, make up and photography.

The Spectacular links to the Education State targets of more students reaching the highest level of achievement in the arts, ensuring kids are happy, healthy and resilient, and building pride in our schools.

Tickets will be available from 9am on Thursday 19 July at Ticketek or by phone on 132 849.

Participate in the 2019 Spectacular

In Term 4 we will begin looking for talented government school students to form the principal cast and the backstage team in audio, lighting and video production, stage management, costume and film, make up and photography.

Alternatively, schools can submit an Expression of Interest for a place in Mass Dance or Mass Choir and have the chance for approximately 16 studnets to represent your school in the 2019 Spectacular.
